Full Tilt Rush Poker Strategy

full-tilt-rushOne of the biggest struggles facing new players to Rush Poker at Full Tilt Poker is what specific strategy to use while playing. As you are facing off against a new set of opponents during each game, it can be difficult to gain any information about your opponents that you can use in the future. You may face off against the same player later during your session cut such an occasion will be rare. Most players will recommend a tight-aggressive strategy. However, this may not always be the best way to play.

Rush Poker Strategy – Tight Aggressive

When defining a Rush Poker Strategy, it is important to take several factors into consideration as they will assist you in determining how you will play the game:

Ÿ  Players may fold their hand at any time.

Ÿ  The small blind is assigned to players at random.

Ÿ  Most players will be using very tight strategies.

Ÿ  More players will likely fold or raise than limp into pots.

With these considerations in mind, you can easily see that one of the best strategies to use is the familiar tight-aggressive play style. By playing only premium hands (perhaps the top 20 starting hands) and folding the rest, you can ensure that you are only seeing flops with top cards.

Rush Poker Strategy – Aggressive

However, keep in mind that most new Rush Poker players will be playing very tight as well. This is because it is both a solid strategy and they may be new to the game, cautious in fact. By making a raise on most hands that you see, you will likely be able to chase many of the players around the table away and win the blinds almost every hand. There are several key concepts when using an aggressive strategy:

  1. Make good hands work for the blinds, not for the stacks (this includes pocket Aces).
  2. Be prepared to fold against a strong raise if you were bluffing.
  3. Never think that you have too much in the pot to get out if you get caught being aggressive.
  4. Make pot raises to chase additional players away that have not yet quick folded.

As a general rule, if you are not seeing a flop with 4 players or less (from the original 10) you are not raising enough. Granted, you will get caught playing aggressively with poor cards once in a while when playing Rush Poker at Full Tilt.

However, playing aggressively with almost every hand can help you to come out far ahead in your bankroll over time. With as many as 100 hands per hour or more, you can count on a large amount of small pot wins to build your chip stack rather than a few big wins every once in a while.
