Play Poker and support the Haiti victims
January 17, 2010
PokerStars and Betsafe Poker collects money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.
The devastating earthquake in Haiti, feared to have killed tens of thousands, has had most of us thinking we’d like to help in some way. PokerStars has been quick to facilitate this after previous disasters, and once again it is giving you an easy way to donate cash.
PokerStars have set up a Haiti Earthquake Appeal. All the money raised will go straight to the Red Cross to help it’s relief efforts in Haiti – and PokerStars has pledged to match every dollar raised!
The appeal is running until noon on January 31, and here’s how you can help the people of Haiti by playing poker at PokerStars :
– In the PokerStars lobby, go to Tourney >> Special and enter one of the dummy ‘Haiti Earthquake Relief’ tournaments listed there. ‘Buy-ins’ range from $1,000 all the way down to $1. You will not need to play an actual tournament, instead all of the ‘entry fees’ go straight to the fund.
Betsafe Poker organize a poker tournament to collet money for Haiti
To support and collect money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake, Betsafe will organize a poker tournament on the 20th of January at 20:45 CET. The tournament will cost $0+5 and 100% of the fee generated will be donated to UNICEF. Players can also make unlimited re-buys during the first hour and one add-on so that Betsafe make sure the victims of Haiti receive as much as possible.
Betsafe will also match the fee generated and we guarantee to give a minimum of $1000. There is no maximum of the amount that Betsafe will match!
